This is actually a very interesting project. We had one like this a while back and it sorta fell by the wayside and never got finished.

Have one person collect about 20 original images from various photographers and then have each member of the group post process each image and then post them along with their editing details.

You get to see lots of 'flavors'.

Editing is where I struggle the most and would love to see the "Edit Club" happen ... count me in!

I will do it. That is if anyone actually wants to see my editing. I am not as good as most people here but can try to bring something different.

sounds great. I'll do it.

The key to this would be to have members keep track of their editing steps, and maybe even exact settings, and post that with the images. Knowing right off how and effect was done will be crucial to learning, and will be easier on everyone than having to ask the person posting to go back and try to remember all the steps.

yeah definintely, i was thinking of them as kind of mini personalized tutorials.

Brilliant idea, but I'd leave the numbers open - i.e. let people pick which and how many they want to edit.

The most useful part would be seeing the steps they took, and comparing the effect of THEIR steps compared to a different edit of the same image.

Don't do any judging of "quality", either, just use it as a learning tool.

bumping, I really like this idea.

Thanks for the concept! It marries nicely with my request for DPC Univesity, a thread I started with no responses...yet! Edit Club? Hmmmm. Sounds to me like a DPC Univesity Satellite campus! It...has... possibilities! You have my vote in favor! :)

I had so many "help me with this picture" edits of other people's pictures in my workshop folder at one time, with the editing steps to get there too. Shame they took so much space and had to remove them after a while. Each was like a mini-tutorial so that the person could re-create it at their computer, at full resolution.

Things like taking a shot like this:

and turning it into

in a mere 1,127 easy to do steps. yes - I am kidding - was only 845 steps ;)

what? 800+? you must use PS because that's a single adjustment in PSP X: Fade Correction... done... ;)

I'd be interested in seeing and taking part in this, too. I think I'd be most interested if we were given a period of time to edit and then the edited versions were all shared at the same time so as not to influence each other but I'd be game for whatever.

What's the first rule of "Edit Club"?

I wouldn't mind joining up...
