You can ignore any thread you wish. We are a community here and we like to discuss many topics. I suggest if you prefer learning only, you only read teaching-type threads.

| I understand. I'd recommend turning off the "General Discussion" forum for starters. If you go to your preference page, there's a link near the bottom of the right hand side to manage the forum filter. There you can select which forum sections you'd like to see. The majority of off-topic/dear abby posts are in the general discussion, although the Rant section probably doesn't contain any necessary reading either. |

I guess he wouldn't want to read about a good friend on DPC that has gone missing.
Sir, this community not only talks about photography but anything else that happens in our lives outside of photography. I feel that I can get some very good advise from some very intelligent and good people here. So if you feel that my forum is not of your taste, just please ignore it. Thank you.

how about reading and contributing to one of these threads. without contribution they fall off the front page and can be forgotten. I recomend the first one:)
cool stuff
Portrait lighting
High contrast B&W
Landscape photgraphy
These will keep you busy for a while
