EVER, as in the history of the world. :P
For what he's put all of us at DPC through, they'd better be! |

Technically the "old" ones have GPS locaters in em, people just didn't know it (more of a radio triangulation type thing). Mine has a setting (2 year old phone-not GPS) to have on always or just for 911 calls. |

I was hoping to wake up to better news this morning. Its quite frustrating to live so close yet be so helpless.

I know how you feel. All we can do is just sit, and wait for good news.
...And obsessively check the DPC main page to see if someone has posted to this thread (such as Steve himself.) |

I think I am checking this thread for good news more than I hit the update button on challenges.
Just keep waiting on the good news. Better yet, waiting on the story from Steve.

Ok people, I am new to the chatting-could someone explain why I keep seeing where people "bump to keep this active"? Does this thread die and go to message heaven if there is no activity after a period of time? Sorry for my ignorance but thought I'd ask! Thanks in advance for the info. Also thanks for the concerns, thoughts, prayers, and actions of all of you wonderful friends of Steve! |

Its to keep the thread on the top of the forum page, so it won't be missed. I take it there is no new news this morning, Robin?

Wring anything new moves this thread to the top of the list. Bumping is just a way to keep it where people can easily find it without searching.

When ever there is a new post the message goes again to the top of the list. "bump" means they didn't have anything to add, but wanted to keep this thread (series of messages) listed on the display. It is rare for us to wish to keep a thread without any new info alive this long, but this is a special case. Rather then having the SC council work at programming something special for a one of case, the members are keeping the thread alive manually with a "bump"

I hope the newer cell phones doesn't have that option, I hope you can't turn it off or on. Does anyone know if it stays on all the time? Thanks again for all your help.... |

On my phone I can turn it off, but it says it will still be available to 911. |

By default it may be on all the time, but usually there's an option to switch it to the 911-only mode.

I'll be going out to the Sperstition area later today and will check in here before I go around noon. -Hopefully there will be some good news. I've e-mailed Tina so that if Daryl is going we won't be doubling up and so everyone knows where I'll be! I know the area pretty well. :0) |

Barbara | Being half a continent away doesn't make it much easier. Gotta go out for a few hours. Maybe there will be good news when I get back on this afternoon.

Good luck, Laura. I'd offer you company as well, but we need to get my dog a shot today. That, and I haven't gone to sleep yet... |

I have company and we're taking them to the South Rim tomorrow. I'll look there for the car.
Praying and keeping positive thoughts. |

I wish I lived out west so that I can help look. I'm keeping him in my prayers.
