| I know most of you don't know me and Steve knows me less but geez I was worried!!!! I kept this thread open all day at work and even told my boss I didn't care what he thought about it (no I didn't get fired) :) I am SO HAPPY and relieved to hear this has turned out well and that Steve is ok!!! |

| How do you guys know that he is safe. His family has been following this all day with no current information. who can we contact by phone for information as to his safety. |

All,
Remember, we know he was fine in the early AM on the 30th, but he's not actually back home yet.
For those not following the whole thread, I received a call from Daryl, who personally spoke with a Pinal County Sherrif's deputy who saw and spoke with Steve around 02:30AM on the 30th. Steve apparently was out in the Superstitoin Mountains to get some lightning shots, and was dozing in his car.
This is a bona-fide sighting, and he was fine at the time, but he still has not returned to Mesa. |

So now he's only been missing 1 day?
He's probably embarassed by the whole thing and is dreading coming home to all the commotion. But if he's only been missing a day now should we really keep the posters up? |

Since he was fine on 30th and that was Sunday, I think we can assume that just over a day later he is still fine and just waiting for those storms or on his way back. Is it far from the mountains to his home?

| Mesa police department talks with his sister and verifies his car was seen at 230am on july 30th. They said that it appeared that someone was in the car sleeping but they did not talk with this person. But from police description they think it was him. Police have returned to the spot where they seen the vehicle and it is now gone. He has not returned home. So we are still looking for him. This is his sister and niece in oregon. |

In the interests of being cautious it's probably best to proceede as we have been. He's been seen, still not home, and still has not contacted close friends or family.

Why didnt the police wake him up, verify his identity, and tell him that there was a missing person report out on his behalf?
This makes no sense..

yea! where I live you aren't allowed to sleep in your car at night so the police will harass you for that alone. How do we know he was waiting for lightning if no one talked to him. This is still a bit confusing - but it very well could just be me ;) |
