If you have a group of photos that follow a common theme, you may be interested in making some prints like these:
Steam Locomotion
Breathless
These 'Triptych' configurations can tell a story or show multiple views of a subject. There are lots of possibilities with these :)

| Excellent suggestion and layouts! Another advantage is it gives you a way to make a large print, even though the data for each photo may be only enough for a smaller print...Thanks! |

Wonderful Idea I was sitting here this morning looking at a group of flag photos wondering how to put them into a collection like that...
Now my question is when are you going to put the Steam Locomotion on sale? I know a certain little boy who loves all your train photos. |

Of course, the popular posters in people's offices are on topics like "Motivation" or "Teamwork" or "Inspiration" which give even more possibilities.

I have had a fascination with trains since I was a child, and that's probably one of the reason I enjoy railroad photos. My grandfater lived in South Carolina and a railroad ran right behind his house. During my summer visits to his home, I spent a lot of time along those tracks...

I love triptychs! to the point where I racked my brain to get this shot done in the emotions challenge! :-)
I also have this one for sale as well. :-)

I think a triptych challenge would be fun, but I would also think that text should be allowed on the image for somethign like that as well...

... or maybe a poem or other lyrics and let the three photos visualize the story told.

You should come vist me then. I live 3 blocks from one of the Norfolk Southern Repair Shops, the Juniata Shops, it was orginally owned by the PRR, then Penn Central and after that Conrail now its NS. As a matter of fact if you want train photos some of the most published train photos come from the Horseshoe Curve which is just outside the city.

Of course, Railfest is the best. A really cool train excursion around the Horseshoe Curve which offers some really fantastic photo opportunities. Also there is a tour of the Juniata Repair Shops, Horseshoe Curve and the Railraoder's Museum Included in Railfest, which just happens to be the first weekend of October.

I really like triptychs and they can look really effective. The couple that I have on my wall are actually matted with 3 holes cut out, with each photo mounted separatey, rather than edited in photoshop with a digital frame generated.
I think it makes a really big difference to the final look - printed with lines around and added text looks like a framed poster, photographs with a custom mat look very different. |
