I think so, although it's wordier than stranger but not way wordier. |

Of course he left, didn't you see the link I posted? It answered all his questions.
I believe he is now out looking for a goat - the natural way.

Did boy Jimmy leave the thread?
'Nature' never 'intended' any damn thing.
Your eye is a window to the world through which light flows. You (your conscious 'self') have no direct access to the light information collected on the retina. What you 'see' is an edited version of that which is before your eyes. It's all very complex, but such a thing as colour constancy is an example of one of the editing procedures over which you have little or no control in your own perception.
As to what you remember of a scene if you turn away and recall the image in your mind - Pedro's faceless man is excellent - colour information is often discarded for effective short term recollection, while forms and shapes tend to be simplified, like cubist paintings.
To paraphrase Pablo P - art tells us a lie in order to present us the truth. Insofar as the camera does not lie, it is unable to present the truth in the same way as art. The camera uses neo-con free-market economy to economise on the truth. Ignore this paragraph.

Jimmieâ€Â¦you amaze me on how you try and have something to say to everyone who finds another chink in your non-processed armor. I look at people like youâ€Â¦they tend to be the last who want to admit that everything is changing, and for the better. You say get a better camera if you can’t make the photos you wantâ€Â¦but better cameras have more software in them that makes the photos look better out of cameraâ€Â¦.probably using some of the same technology we use now outside of the cameraâ€Â¦so right now we have the capability to shoot & process a photo that will be able to be done in camera in the year 2010â€Â¦I’ve read reviews, it’s coming!! But when that camera surfaces you will deem it “natural” even though it is doing all that you said not to do nowâ€Â¦where will it end? It’s insane to think about some of the things you have stated hereâ€Â¦every photographer I know of has done some sort of work on there photos to make them look like what they saw in natureâ€Â¦and are photographers that I’m sure knew much more about manipulating the camera and tricking it than you doâ€Â¦but you say they are bad photographersâ€Â¦and ultimately you are better than them. I looked through your shots and there were a few I did like but most are flat and unappealingâ€Â¦due to that is how most digital cameras process the image. And those flat images look nothing like nature intended. Your argument is so tiredâ€Â¦and it does the same to the viewers of your photos. I don’t doubt that you are a good photographer and think out what you will do before you click the shutterâ€Â¦but that goes for more than 75% of the people on this site also. They just tweak it minor to make it more appealing, and to be honest make the shot look more like the real world than you could without doing the same. So I am ultimately lost on how you are grasping on to what you hold so dearâ€Â¦I almost feel sorry for you. But when it boils down to itâ€Â¦it is your opinionâ€Â¦and no one can take that awayâ€Â¦so keep fightingâ€Â¦because you have to believe in somethingâ€Â¦rightâ€Â¦even if most see it as crazy. I mean the idea sounds nice but when the final result is shown it is definitely lacking and that is what the camera makers wanted so you will buy more software to make it betterâ€Â¦blame it on themâ€Â¦lousy camera makers!!
Clint
Wowâ€Â¦I think I’m doneâ€Â¦and probably didn’t convey my point at all the way I wanted it toâ€Â¦I’m sure I will be burned alive for my out-cry.

Don't feel sorry for me. And you miss my point entirely... it is not in taking the shot... it is in changing and altering to when it is beyond what was originaly presented... when you put the taken shot side-by-side with the posted shot...and the two are not even similar, that is where the problem lies... and I post on other sites, also... I only put up a few here to see how the thing works.Minor tweaking is not the root of the problem... full-blown alterrations..... |

Well, I sent Jimmie some of my straight from the camera shots. Don't have a portfolio anymore so I did it e-mail. How much you want to bet he won't bother with me. This is probably a ruse just to get us angry and maybe he wants us to look at his portfolio. I haven't yet. Just sent him an e-mail. |
