I've been dropping from my mediocre start to a terrible low. I already got one comment suggesting my image was not legal. Please vote as if the image is legal. I have requested validation on it!

Why do people assume that because they get 3's and 4's that it was trolls that did it.
I give plenty of 3s and 4s to pictures that deserve them...or pictures that I feel didn't really meet the criteria, or pictures that are just plain boring.
Just deal with what you get...an average is just that, an average. |

i have a proclivity to round numbers today, i don't expect much from this, but then again i didn't put much in. but i have an exact ratio of 4:6 3:7 2:9 1:9 right now. I can be proud of that

you aren't the only one. my wife got a similar comment, so she subitted to have hers validated as well. she spent hours trying to get the motion blur right in camera, only for her first commenter to say that they know fake mation blur when they see it. kinda silly really.
as for me, well either the voters don't like it because it is not panning motion blur or it just stinks, becasue I woke up at a 4.0 |

That's because we like to blame them for our low scores LOL
You give plenty of 3s en 4s you say, but looking at your profile it says: Votes Cast: 0 So either you don't vote at all, or you don't vote the required 20% and they don't count in the end.
We always deal with what we get, there's no other way, but I wonder by what standard you vote when you call 3s and 4s average.

Yes....you see Kevin believes that 251 pictures of different flowers is the same as 50 artistic renderings of one model....he's young yet. |

I kinda resent being told I should "rethink" my photo, actually. I've been here long enough to know that this submission does not deserve the crush of 4's that it's getting. And even if I believed that a "rethinking" was in order, no one so far as bothered to tell me what makes it so horrible so I really wouldn't have any idea where to start. The technicals are fine. The subject isn't a ribbon, but it's not sub-5. I honestly expected about a 5.3-5.5 with this one. It's not too late for a rally, of course, but my hopes of a sudden spike are quickly dimming.

It's amazing to me how, week after week, the voters are so much harsher the first night.
I know I'm not posting the greatest images ever (and that's okay with me because I'm having fun with the challenges), but to dip down into the 4's the first night of voting and be up near a 6 the next day just seems pretty wild to me.
And it seems to happen pretty consistently for me. It seems that the harshest critics must be the ones who have, themselves, entered an image into the challenge and can't wait to vote everyone else down.
