(original)
(take two)
Evening ebb, morning ebb... It just seemed natural to me. And I wanted to "hyperprocess" something, since I hadn't done it for a while...

I wanted to reshoot my square crop entry, with LOVE written on my hand. Tried it, but didn't work out the way I wanted..

My original entry was for the, ahem, Shadows Challenge (the first one, four years ago this week). Does anyone have a greater span than 338,370 between the Image_ID numbers of their original and their current entry?
For the record, my score went up by about 0.5 points, but the number of comments went from over 20 to 6.
They both have the same title: What Color Is YOUR Shadow?

In this case, I guess you submit a ticket and request validation, just like for any other possible rules violation, and we weill evaluate it. |

I went back about a year, which is about as far back as I COULD go since I shoot mostly landscapes and I joined in December 2004... But it can't hold a candle to this sort of deep-diving :-)

Well, it's definitely restricted to site dinosaurs, and I needed a stat where I could lead the list, especially since they took away thread-kills.
It would also be interesting to see who repeated the most-recently entered photo too. |

Original 6.744
Take Deux 6.191
Interesting that I think I took most suggestions in to effect to be more in focus and have more color to reflect in the water but score went down. And I think it is a better shot than the original in the sense that it has better lighting and in the original some thought that it was ice so I had more drops floating around, but improving on high scoring image is not so easy. Definitely not complaining just observations. It was definitely much for fun to shoot in the summer than it was on that overcast day a few months back though!

Two things jump out at me. In your original your face was nicely blurred. In the retake it wasn't. That reduced the "wow factor" IMO so if that was one of your comment suggestions I think that was a bad one to follow through on. Also, that's a very challenge specific entry so you probably also got hurt there as well since this was pretty much a free study challenge.

Thanks Richard that seems to make sense and it was a very specific challenge and I think I got the comment to be more in focus from more than one person so I tried to do it, and again I am not complaining about scores and really happy with both images. I also had about an hour to do the whole thing so that looking through the many attempts to find the one I thought was best (of about 75). I only gave myself ten minutes to do and of course once I submitted I saw a few that I had missed and liked better. Thanks again for the extra critique.
