| I'm sitting at almost a full point below my original. This is indeed a tough challenge to be in. I only had time to check out a few entries and they look very good, which just makes mine look worse. |

Still worse than the original. Might be better in the morning, but I suspect that it's suffering from a lack of context.

That's why I chickened out in entering, though it would have been interesting to see how my entries taken with a crappy P&S would have turned out with my DSLR. |

My first vote and view was a ten, and I got a comment. First for me :)
But of course it dropped down below six pretty quick.

This was the closest I had ever cut a deadline, it even gave me the error that the challenge was no longer in the submission page when the challenges page reloaded after I submitted. But it went in, luckily. I shot it about 25 mins before deadline, and with a 15 min drive home I almost missed it. |

Starting at 5.0 with 2 votes, it scored much higher than my original (which ended up with my first brown ribbon), but I think it's going the same way down, though the photo came out much better. I took this challenge literally, took a remake of my lowest score and used the comments to improve it. But as nobody wants to take the effort to look at the first one, nobody will know that I really improved the remake, dull as it may look. This challenge should've said, 'show both in a diptych' and then we could've compared the two.

Hey Titia that's exactly what I'm doing as I vote however there are some that I can't find the original to compare or I am unsure if it is the original since more than one photographer took the same shot. However, the ones I was pretty sure of I've scored pretty high on just the improvements alone and that's really what this challenge is about IMO. I just wish some of the entries made it easier to find the original. I notice one person even left a direct link to it which I thought was brilliant however it kinda screws up the look of the thumbnail page. :P

Nice shots guys... but then you've all done these before, haven't you. :)
I think I could have re-shot my first challenge entry and done a much better job, but I didn't get the time. Oh well, at least it won't lower my average. :)

I am having a ball, but becoming more and more addicted. My work has suffered, my husband says he doesn't know me anymore. I have 2 grown girls that say they call and call and I never answer the phone (not that I ever DID before...ha)
