Okay, I'm almost half way through voting and I just gave my first 10 when I usually hand 'em out like candy. With the exception of that one absolutely none of these are making me say, "Wow!" They're almost all exactly what I expected to see in this challenge. There were a couple that I voted kind of high, not because I thought the pictures were that good, but because the person taking them was attempting to be creative and do something slightly different.
I'm really disappointed in this challenge. |

I might agree at only a thumnail pass...opening a few, I only found what I consider 10-12 good to great shots...and the rest, well...
I bet people who are voting are caught in a rhythm where if they give a out a long long string of 4's a good/better image might only get a 5-6 when it may have deserved a 7-10. I myself fall into a zombie like pattern when I vote at times and assume I'm not the only one.

Wait a minute - does that mean you would score them differently if you were not suspecting them? What about the quality of the pics in their own right?
OK they are not all ribbon winners (including mine, unfortunately), but I believe a well-composed, well-exposed, sharp image taken at night should not be trashed because it doesn't say WOW. |

Looks like the secret of my failure in this challenge is noise!
Sigh: so which one: Noise Ninja or Neat Image? Seems like the perennial question although I think NN may win it for me.

I believe that was a testament to originality. I vote what I believe is original far higher than on image quality or technicals.
