So sorry to hear that. Touching that you held her in the end, a sad memory, but it sounds like you have many wonderful memories. Together with your great shots of her, she'll always be around.
My dog had knee surgery this year, and they told us she has bad arthritis, made me think about her mortality, even though she's only 4. My whole family will be crushed when that time comes.

I'm sooooo sorry for your loss...
I have a 2 year old dog that has been diagnosed with a fatal condition, and I am lucky to have had her this long... I am facing the same situation.... I truely feel your pain!

I am so very sorry :(
I know how special these companions are and I cannot imagine a world without their unconditional love. Humans could learn a lot from the goodness of dogs... |

I like to think they move on to a bigger and better place where they are allowed to do all those things they like doing best, including the ones that used to get them into trouble.

AWWWW. At the risk of shattering my public "cool guy" image, I have to say that made me cry. It's a good news/bad news thing: it's wonderful, and it's awful, to be with them when they pass. My heart goes out to you.

I got choked up as I read the thread, my eyes are tearing right now. I have lost a few very close pets, and you will always remember their presence in your life. Even the pets I wasn't so keen on I still miss. Strange how that works. I keep journal entries about my pets, including how I felt on the day they went over the bridge. It sometimes helps.
My heart goes out to you.

A Bridge Called Love
It takes us back to brighter years,
to happier sunlit days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.
And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.
There is a bridge of memories
from earth to Heaven above...
It keeps our dear ones near us
It's the bridge that we call love.

| I knew the milli-second I read the "rainbow bridge" what happened. I am sorry for your loss .. but I am happy for what you gained in having such a wonderful companion and happy for what your companion got from you. Be blessed in what you gave and not what you lost :) |
