Since I rarely, okay, never, get up before the sun, I have no pictures of sunrises.

BUT, the ones I see in here are awesome. Makes me wonder if I shouldn't start . . .

It's simple; just go to bed AFTER sunrise... that's how most of mine happen :-)

i always wondered, can you tell the difference between a sunrise and a sunset photo? (unless you know the location and orientation of the shot, of course). Here are two shots taken in the same location (mount Palomar) some 14 hours apart - one sunset and one sunrise

can you tell which is which?

We always start by checking the time/date stamp in the EXIF data ... : )

True, but...

A. It's always sunrise somewhere.

B. The time in my camera could be set to anytime I want.

OK..I'd say #1 is sunrise...based on blue sky area in #2. Right?

...one of my persnal fav's

...one commenter said it looked over done like a black velvet painting....but this had very little PP done ot it. The colors were really this cool.

...my most recent challenge entry. It finished in the top ten I am happy to say.
