Just heard that the hospital I work at is laying off 44 employess next week. I'm the low-man on the totem pole in our department having started there last September. I'm really hoping that the two full time positions we have un-filled can be counted as our cuts. If not, I'll be out of work real soon. And of course - the hospital has not said a word to the empoyees. We get to find out by watching television. ugh

Ya, that would be most stressful.

I certainly wish you the very best.

Oh man... don't you love how places want to work on communication and yet you find everything out by television?

Crossing fingers you're job is safe *hug*

ok ... the 6 o clock news says the lay off are next week. The 7 o clock news said they will take place by March 13th.... so now I can be stressed an worried for an entire week instead of just a few days. Time for a new bottle of Jose Quervo.

Won't surprise me if they wait until next Friday - end of the pay period.

If you don't like your job, why don't you just quit instead of trying to get fired?

I don't consider myself lucky. I like my job, and the hospital I'm working at. If I get laid off, I'll most likely be forced to move as no one around here is hiring right now.

I feel your pain. The company I worked for was closing and instead of laying everyone off at once, they let about half the employees go. They got employment benefits(free schooling) and a good severance package. Then they walked a few people out every few weeks. We never knew who was going or when. Went on for about 6 months, then another company bought us out and the people that were left got to stay.
Hope everything works out for you.

I got to work early so I could try and find out something from my supervisor - only to find he skipped on out of here an hour before hand. errr So, I guess the soonest I can get any info now will be next week.
