I'm more concerned with the lengths the administrations seems willing to go to provide a tempting distraction for the media in order to dissuade them from covering the real issues. |

I kayaked under a duck hunter on a river and got it. He couldn't see me before he fired and it rained down on me. It was painless and more funny then anything. Kind of cool to be able to say I've been shot though.

Surely you jest.
C'mon, you aren't seriously suggesting that someone would deliberately shoot a 78-year old man with birdshot simply to distract the media?

I am more concerned about how this rubbish always gets more air time then the real issues (and I don't mean the latest political fur-par by some public "servant"). |

Why did Dick shoot the lawyer?
Because Special Intelligence told him the lawyer was a quail. |

LOL How true!;)
Here's another one.
How does Chaney feel about gun control?
He's not sure, but he'll let you know when he learns how to control one. |

I was "peppered" a few years ago, and my friend who accidently shot me ended up arrested. I wasn't hurt enough to go to the hospital, but "the law" required anyone involved in a shooting take a field sobriety test. My friend had tied one on the night before, and although he denied it, might have had a little "hair of the dog" that morning.
My question is this. If politicians aren't above the law, did Cheney take a field sobriety test? If not why? |

Two lawyers were hunting in Texas. They came upon Dick Cheney (with whom the first lawyer was acquainted) and stopped to chat. Suddenly Cheney spotted movement and lifted his gun. The first lawyer looked up and said "Duck!" The second lawyer rolled his eyes and said "No silly, that's a covey of quail." As Cheney squeezed the trigger, the first lawyer dove to the ground and yelled "No, really... DUCK!" |

I read about this all the time in "Quail News" ... But there it's never considered an accident!!!!
Any hunter that hits a person is a freeking idiot ... but we already knew that.
I don't care if the guy jumped out from behind a Bush (HA HA -- sorry) in the line of fire ...
These guys can get away with anything.
The guy that was shot was a major contibutor to the Republican party ... NO REALLY??? !!! ... keep polluting the ground with LEAD!!! GO ON!!! ... oh yeah ... and your lawyer!
Originally posted by ButterflySis: Originally posted by A1275: I'm not sure why some to think this is funny - it could have been very serious indeed if the man's eye had been lost.
It's my understanding that the lawyer failed to follow basic hunting safety procedures - namely, announcing your presence behind the guy with the gun.
While embarrassing to Cheney, IMHO it really wasn't his fault. |
It really isn't funny. I don't know all the procedures but I always thought you were suppose to identify the target before firing? It sounds like they were both at fault. |

If Saturday Night Live has half a brain ( and if they can do it legally) they should superimpose that guy's face over Vince Vaughn's and Cheney's over the angry boyfriend from The Wedding Crashers and just play it out. I'd die laughing |

Yeah, it took over frontpage news for CNN just as the Katrina report came out saying; A congressional report to be released this week slams the government's response to Hurricane Katrina, calling it a "failure of leadership" that left people stranded when they were most in need. |

By funny, I think they mean "ironic" or "poetic justice".
Hunting little "game" birds is a big human using a big gun to shoot little tiny bird - and it's almost impossible to miss because you're "spraying" the sky with shrapnell ... it might even spray enough to hit a person nearby.
Cheney has been called a chicken-hawk so if you agree with that it makes it seem even more silly in several ways ---
Perhaps this litlle activity "BACK-FIRED" just like the war did.
OK - sorry to rant. I appreciate the thread!
