I went to school with a foreign exchange student from Japan. All I know is konichiwa I might be wrong but does it mean hello? |
I am a little rusty, but I think Rikki is saying "Yo, Jeff! Go get me some Japanese Saki and a couple burritos!" |

Kyoto Dialogue
Willow whispers: "In my twisted way
I sieve the light of sunset out of day
and from it spin the thread of midnight, thus
to weave a tapestry no moon could dare."
Sun replies: "It is not light you weave;
it is the stuff of dreaming, and you sieve
the best of it away; your dreams are dark
and somber arabesques that wake the night."
My thought: each of them has a tale to spin ΓΆ€”
each tale begins with light, and each will end
(whether in light or darkness) in still air ΓΆ€”
the light is all, and it is always there,
and nothing else can touch us as they do
(branches and light, shadows and dreams of you).

"The Name of Love"
Listen close as beauty whispers
the softness of a single rose
Hope grows as desire seeks
the tenderness passion knows.
Cradled in a blossom of grace
a touch of velvet charity
sweetens as lovers embrace
the elegance of silk and purity.
The rose bloom is so precious
a flower truly- from above,
a gift from the heart so gracious
calls out the name of love.

Jeff,
I'm delighted you bumped this thread out of the ashes.:-) All the poems written here a fantastic. It has been my favorite thread on the site for some time now.
If you wouldn't mind, I'd love a poem for this photo. I was trying to capture the softer side of the grizzly.
Thanks
-Laura

This is one of my best friend's dog Hayden. He's getting old and I'd love to pass along this shot with a poem to them.

"A Dying Heritage"
A dying heritage
A dying breed
Empty plains
Tell of greed
The land once flowed
With grain and herds
Now only yeilds
Deadly words
Once free to roam
Now bound by death
The native's strength
Takes one last breath
No honor for beast
No wisdom to know
Of a dying heritage
For the buffalo.
