This was a weeping willow that I captured just before sunset at a Temple in Kyoto.

Here's a peom from Robert Ward. Thanks bear_music.

Kyoto Dialogue

Willow whispers: "In my twisted way
I sieve the light of sunset out of day
and from it spin the thread of midnight, thus
to weave a tapestry no moon could dare."

Sun replies: "It is not light you weave;
it is the stuff of dreaming, and you sieve
the best of it way; your dreams are dark
and somber arabesques that wake the night."

My thought: each of them has a tale to spin —
each tale begins with light, and each will end
(whether in light or darkness) in still air —
the light is all, and it is always there,

and nothing else can touch us as they do
(branches and light, shadows and dreams of you).

How on this earth did I miss this??? Just lovely. Reminds me of a Louisiana bayou. So deep and moody and mysterious. This is gorgeous, Rikki!!!

Another great one Rikki. Good use of sepia tones, not overdone. This reminds me of the these trees they have in Jamaica that have these weird root kind of things coming out of them and into the water. Thanks for taking me back to one of my favorite places.

After the Branch challenge I thought I would never enjoy a photo of branches again LOL but this one has a really nice moody feel to it, love the sepia it just completes it. Great shot and processing.
