Have an assignment for school to shoot an individual Creative/Fad portrait. I'm not exactly up on the latest creative/fad trends and am having trouble coming up with ideas.
Anyone have any examples/ideas of what you think represents good creative/fad style portraiture? |

Look at Joey Lawrence's portfolio... his grunge look is all the rage right now. :)

Not really.
The cheesy action-based grunge is the rage now ;-) |

Kinda lost me on the cheesy action-based grunge comment Joey.
BTW, your portfolio is outstanding!!! Quite a range of great shots. |

You could do a studio lit pet rock portrait :-) |

I'm thinkin' the instructor is looking for people in the shot. But, I may just do that one for the next challenge. Dress a rock in bib overalls sitting on a stack of hay.
Call it country rock. |

Yes.
Specifically, 5 different poses and 2 different background portrait shots. |

Whoops, I didn't see the portrait part of the OP.
Try some of the half face(off center) close-up type shots with a high key background...that is pretty trendy right now. |

That's a good idea. I'll give that a try as one or two of the shots.
I'll post the shots when I'm done.
Thanks guys. |

I like the last one the best. It seems a little blah though. it needs something to make it 'pop'. maybe a tighter crop, some saturation and contrast?

4th one is a very creative idea, the plectrums are a nice touch.

Thanks for the comments.
Didn't know that guitar picks were called plectrums. |
