My one year on DPC - DPChallenge Forums

Last week I passed my one year mark at DPC(1/27/06)and wanted to state how great an experience it has been. People here have been so super kind and supportive and it's truly amazing to have a place where one can show off their work, get such extensive exposure and assistance without fear or inhibition.

On the week of this 1st anniversary I also managed to pass some cool stat marks as well...
My profile passed 7000 views
My then Top Scoring image passed 7000 views
On my 50th Challenge I hit a Best Of...in "Best Of 2005" Avg:7.149
and over 200 images chosen as Favorites....

...but most of all and best of all I've made some great friends...better than stats or money (I think?) and that list includes people who've been helpful or paying attention in any way (a good long list).

Anyway, with all the silliness and complaining about stupid comments, trolls (and we all know there's plenty of that to go around)...I really wanted to point out what an incredible...special, place DPC is. And that I owe so much, if not all the progress I've made over this entire year to ALL the great people that are here and the site in general.

Thank's so much for all your help and support, I had so much fun. I just renewed last week and I'm sure 2006 will be even better.

Glad to have been a part of making your DPC year a positive one. You're really making a name for yourself, so keep it up!

*EDIT* Amazingly enough.. it's my *four* year anniversary here.. but you've made much more of an impact than I ever have.

Congratulations Steve! You're right about this place, and it's people like you that make it special. Besides being a positive and contributing role model online, you've gone the extra mile for a number of people, including myself.

I agree this place is a great site and the people are kind, helpfull and honest too but just one thing that I would like....

Happy anniversary, Steve! However, I wouldn't be true to my own nit-pikiness if I failed to point out you don't have 200+ photographs chosen as favorites; your photographs, collectively, have been chosen 219 times. Your ribbon-winner, "Times Square", accounts for 73 of those 219...
