I was looking through portfolios this evening and saw a few that I thought "wow, it'd be really cool just to watch that person shoot for a day to see how they shoot what they do". So which 3 photographers would YOU want to watch for a day to learn from (you don't get to shoot, just watch and hang out).

I'd want to hang out with:
Joey Lawrence
Librodo
and kirbic (although that would have to be at night for the awesome astrophotography)

I take a mirror with me so I can watch myself shoot. It keeps me entertained. :D

I'd like to see how Dan shoots and sets up his subject. Just look at his portfolio, he's one funky guy.

Hmmmm that's a tough one. I would have to say Dan(graphicfunk), Bea(Dax), jjbeguin, and Robert(Bear_Music).

How about editing? Just sit and watch someone edit an image?

Hmmmmm... Joey, Manny(librodo), Heida, and Leslie(Goodman).

Haha....yeah, he would probably be my top pick too. I would study the "lighting" on his subjects....very intensly...

I'm so with DrJones. He seems to have things well in hand!

Cool thread.

If I only had one choice, it'd be jjbeguin. Too many reasons to mention.

If I had multiple options (a day each, of course) I'd pick nico (for a nude challenge shot ), librodo, goodman, and pedro (around his horses).

Ursula would definately top my list!

It depends on what we're watching for....?

....but outside of the particulars, I'd watch all the usual people that show up on these lists.

;)

Robert for landscape, Dan for studio, DrJOnes for models...

I'd watch the photographers that excel in areas that I'm not good at...which pretty much leaves me with way too long a list to post here. :)

i would like to see theodor38, xion and dax. they are amazing!

I think it would depend on where I was as to who I would want to watch in action. For example...

In the NYC area I'd definitely hang with Pawdrix, JPR, and Tranquil...they know their way around the town AND their cameras. Even if Pawdrix uses a Nikon. ;)

If I were in the Pacific Northwest, I'd have to choose Artyste, frisca, and zoomdak, for their phenomenal approaches to different genres of photography, and because they're just plain fun to talk with.

The list of places and combos could go on and on and on...but there are literally dozens of folks I would love to see work. As it stands, I have been fortunate enough to shoot with several talented Texans, including crabappl3 and gordon, so I can't say that I don't have excellent mentors in the area already. :)
