I just hope MasterCard doesn't call my wife like they did when I got the TV.

They notice stuff like TV's anyway once they are delivered - even if they are flat panels; just changes when you have to ask for forgiveness that's all :-)

Enjoy the new toy.....

So Slippy are you going to come out on Saturday?
01/19/2006 03:31:27 PM · #7
Congrats! Just tell your wife that your powershot is on steroids.

AAaaaak, the battery has to charge. I did get a battery pack as well, so I could run around the block and get a bunch of regular batteries.

Too bad I can't come out on Saturday. If the weather isn't too crappy I bring the kidlets to a park and get some shots of them, though. Assuming I can learn how to press the button on this beast.

Hey, where's the swivel-screen!?!? There's no swivel-screen!!!

Now I can sell a photo to my wife for a dollar and write this off for taxes. Should've got it in December so I could write it off right away. Oops.

Not only that, you have to look through this little hole in the back of the camera! Highly overrated, I tell you... :P

I thought it was nice that you offered to reimburse me. The bill is in the mail. ;-)

Slippy was already a force to be reckoned with - now I'm truly afraid of him.

OH SNAP!

Now this is what I've been lusting after. To be able to zoom and have some discernable dof.

Here's my first shot with it, my foot up on the table, a wall about five feet back. Full green. No edits, just resized. Then a crop to actual pixels. :-O SWEET! My P&S can't do that!

Shot in JPG. Now I get to figure out RAW. :-)

sweet!

so now you have an excuse to come out this saturday!

Here's what the jump to an SLR did for me:

Coolpix4500 (8 challenges) average score 5.7855

10D (30 challenges) average score 5.6887

Only a .1 difference but it's notable that my one and only ribbon came with my P&S.

However, like most would I'm sure agree, I would NEVER give up my dSLR. You'd have to pry it from my cold, dead hands....
