a new mobile phone! I decided it was time to catch up on the technology so updated my half a brick ( well not quite but a few years old).
I am amazed! It can video, take still pics, act as a mp3, text, email, connect with internet, tell me my biorhythms, tell me when I'm ovulating (Ha, ha - bit late for that!), create business/name cards, has bluetooth feature, act as my secretary for anniversaries and appointments, voice record, I can send multimedia messages and conference call, and play games. It's smaller than my purse (wallet for US cousins) and it's PINK!!!!( For once in my life I decided to be girly!)
Oh yes I can also make phonecalls on it!!
Where will phones go next??? I would never have thought of incorporating a camera in a phone.
Has anyone any ideas about the next step in this technology???

| I would rather like to see a cell phone that works as a cell phone and not a camera/mp3 player/internet connection/game station/pda that happens to have a crappy phone built in... |

I don't know - I only got it today and haven't finished reading the instructions yet! If it turns up at my bedside tomorrow morning with a cup of tea, I'll let you know!!!

Well so far it appears to fulfill its function as a cell phone as well - can't see this is a problem!!

Hope u enjoy it, they are so small now.
the only thing you are going to hate is the size when you misplace it in your house. At home I am always misplacing it and have to call my phone to hear it.

Technology - my mobile has the following 'features;
compass
spirit level
decibel meter
thermometer
torch
video
camera
'fitness coach' programe - gotta laugh at that one as I am so unfit!
It also has a shock proof casing
I saw it on a 'gadget show' over the xmas holidays and they tested it by putting on a barbaque for five mins, dragging it behind a car etc and its still worked!
Mine is blue.

Soon or (soonish in the US) or now some places. At least in the next year or so, given what I saw last week at CES.

GPS/ mapping/ talking you to your destination (turn here, and so on )
10+Mp cameras
3-4x optical zoom lenses
1+Ghz processors
3D graphics accelerator for gaming (roughly equivalent performance to a playstation 2)
>10Mb/s network connection
Video calls (built in camera doing video encoding on the fly)
Multiple cameras per phone - picture of the user, picture of what the user is looking at.
10+Gb of storage capacity
