OK,
So the wife and I bought a new TV stand. We have all sorts of VHS tapes that need to be burned to DVD.
I have a very powerful computer with all the whisles and bells, including a DVD/CD burner. I also have Nero Burning Rom.
I don't see any RCA connectors in the tower.
How can I transfer vhs to dvd with the set up I described?

I use this to connect the VCR to the computer... or the video camera, or the dvd player, or anything along those lines. Very easy to use. :)

Laurie's will work. Here's another that I've used with excellent results:

| I would say skip the whole PC and grab a stand alone DVD burner that hook directly up to VCRs. They are like $100.00 at walmart. If not you are going to have to buy something to hook your VCR up to the PC and the conversion seems to mess the audio and video up. The video files will also take up a good amount of space on your pc if you use high quality. The only way I get good audio and video on my PC is if I go direct from my digital video cam to the pc with a Firewire connection. |

This is probably a good idea, especially if you can link the two without an analogue connection and use digital. I'm not sure if there are VCR's that have that sort of thing though, maybe? |

For $150 you can buy a DVD recorder with a VCR built in and dub the video tapes to DVD. I bought one of these for myself before Christmas and it works like a charm.
