Found this photo posted on a website...no other information was given. If it's real it's truely amazing.
Never going into the water again! |

| Not sure if the pic is legit but great whites can certainly get to 4 meters (I believe they can get a fair bit bigger, maybe over 6 meters but not sure of the largest size). |

Link from Guinness.
Adult specimens average 4.3ΓΆ€“4.6m (14ΓΆ€“15ft) in length, and generally weigh 520ΓΆ€“770kg (1150ΓΆ€“1700lb)
.....
There are many claims of huge specimens up to 10 m (33 ft) in length and, although few have been properly authenticated, there is plenty of circumstantial evidence to suggest that some great whites grow to more than 6 m (20 ft) in length.

I'm quite sure it's real. I've actually witnessed a scene exactly like this but in deeeper water, and a zodiac instead of a kayak. It's common for the sharks to come nosing around that way. I see nothing in the image to clue me that it is a composite.

| Wonder where the photog was? I see no water disturbance to indicate a chopper, but the wonder of telephoto reaches far... |

Well, it's not a great white, and it's not four meters, but I still think it's really cool!!!

Would you look again and tell me if you still think so? (I'm sure something like this could happen, I just don't think it happened here.)
1. Uh, the giant line down the center of the frame. What is that?
2. No wave starts on one side of the line and ends on the other, at least as far as I can see.
3. There is a small break in the horizon line in the upper left third of the frame.
4. There are no wave patterns present in the lower right corner of the frame (where the text is.) In addition, I can see faint downward brush strokes.
I'm no expert, but to me this looks fake.

I think your seeing a bad scan of the double truck. I'm pretty sure it's real. |

| It looks real enough to me (and certainly plausible). The line down the center is the gutter of a magazine spread. The break in the horizon could be from retouching out a boat or other distraction. The rest seems natural. If there's any evidence at all that the image is fake, it's the lack of a huge wake behind the kayak because if that was me paddling, you can bet I'd be generating tsunamis behind me. |

I can't tell if it's real or not. The picture's been hidden by the photographer and the thumbnail's too small to be able to tell.
