Just doing a little happy dance and wanted to share.

My "Bass Harbor Light" photo took third place in the Digital Image Resource Photo of the Day (Best of Month) contest for November. There's a pretty nice little writeup there too. I don't recognize the other two people as DPCers, but if you are, congratulations, and feel free to chime in!)

Link

For those who want to bookmark it on DPC [ooh, favorites, yum ;) ]
By the way, it's a single exposure, not two as they guessed.

In related good news, my shot "Portrait of an Artist" from the DPC grain contest took second place picture of the month at Digital Image Cafe (no link to there, since there's nothing to see except my name on the list).

Well I don't ever seem to find myself in first place (including here), but second and third is good too! One of these days...

Happy Regards--Neil

And don't forget, Lighthouse Digest entries need to be postmarked by Dec. 31.

Thanks everyone (what a nice DPC family!)

And thanks again Larry for telling me about that contest--yes, I plan to enter. I would have my entry in already if they would have accepted it electronically! I have an 10x15 print already but need to have an 8x10 made. I guess I better order that already.

Congratulations..!!! But I really think your picture is 10 times better than the first and second place...not that they are bad...I just think your picture is better.

The color and detail in your picture is just amazing to me..!! The rocks, clouds, lighthouse..!! Whats really cool to me is the different color in the rocks...rocks that have been under water are dark and wet looking..and then you have the brown rocks which have been out of water..and the lighthouse which looks like its hanging on for dear life...I can go on and on...Great picture!

Thanks again everyone for your well wishes and your fine reviews and comments. My online friends here are what inspire me to go out and take pictures. Just hope someday I get to go out shooting with more of you!

Ok, I didn't make it to the Ithaca GTG this year. It was the weatherman's fault! There's always spring!
