fell over at school today. There was blood everywhere. It was awful. We took her to hospital (luckily 9am on a mon morn is pretty quiet we were in and out in an hour!). They were able to glue her cuts together.
LOl this might be quiet common for some people especially if they have boys but nothing like this has happened to us before!

Get used to it - it won't be the last time! Daughters are just as likely to end up bruised and battered at times as boys nowadays as they take part in football, riding, rugby in England! Don't wrap her in cotton wool or make a big fuss about it else she'll worry about trying riskier activities and that's not good! As a mother whose daughter resembled a battered child at times, I assure you they are tougher than they look!
Tell her she's a brave girl

Am I the only one who thought, "Gee, the cloning tool could take care of that in a jiffy!" ?

Seriously, I know from my experience as a daddy that you were probably much more traumatized than she was. There's nothing worse than seeing our kids get bumped up, no doubt!

Wow New Zealand- You belong to that elite class of high scorers! It seems that when a challenge first begins we in USA see the highest scores first. After that -- downhill all the way until the end. So on behalf of any of the others who have noticed this trend - thanks.

And sorry about the little one- Whatever doesn't kill 'em- makes 'em stronger! (raised two boys and two girls of my own; so I tend to react to these things pretty casually)

LOL if only it was that easy.
Dont worry she was very brave, her older sister who witnessed it all was crying long after Nimue stopped! Kiwi kids dont tend to be wrapped in cotton wool they are a pretty active and adventourous lot!! For all that she is quiet enjoying the attention and I'm sure cant wait to go to school tomorrow and show her battle scars!
As for high scorers well I'm not one of those kiwis.....yet!!!

OOh thats going to be a big shiner when the under eye starts to blacken. Hmmm, costumes, props, whats the theme for the black-eye picture?

Facial and scalp cuts typically bleed profusely even when "minor" because of the extensive blood supply to the head -- very scary-looking. I'm glad she's going to be OK!

She has the face of an angel, love those dimples. Lucky she didn't have any major injuries.

Your daughter has beautiful eyes!

Were the medics so careless as to tape a piece of hair down as well as the cut? :D I hope not.

Don't make too much of a fuss over it -- it doesn't look like it's worried her too much.

yes it does -- I was shot (glancing blow across the lower left cheek) and bought some vitamin E capsules from the local pharmacy. Aside from taking one a day, I broke one open and put it into the wound at every bandage change. Today I have to point it out before anyone notices it. The wound on my shoulder (the bullet traveled from the back to the front) was a bit worse, but I didn't put any vitamin E on it and it is still as noticable as when it was new -- minus the blood of course.

Vitamin E does a remarkable job!

Wow her eye did swell up in comparison to the original photos. Bless her heart. It always seems like these things happen when something important is coming up. She's beautiful even with the cuts and swollen eye. I love the dimples.

But maybe remind her to be "on her game" because she may be the most-noticed!

It's a terrible helpless feeling isn't it. My 4 yr old has hit her chin on the monkey bars 3 times in the last 4 days, and my seven year old was punched in the nose by a boy a few days ago.

It seems like an endless parade of cuts & bruises, healing, more cuts & bruises.

LOL how cute, when we dropped of her big sister at school Nimue's teacher gave Nimue her story writing book and asked her to write a story about her accident. This is what she did :)

You definitely should save that in her scrapbook or something...it's precious! I'm sure she will be feeling better soon and will have a fascinating story to tell her classmates. I also second the recommendation for vitamin E oil...it's miraculous! :)
