I was browsing the current issue of LensWork magazine last night. I read the interview with Nick Brandt and looked at some of his photos in amazement. I have seen a lot of great wildlife photography but never in this particular 'light'. Check it out if you get a chance....

Those are incredible!!! What a use of ligting and dof. Probably the best shots of animal I have ever seen! Thanks for posting. Now I feel really mediocre! Hehehe!

I don't know if it's discussed on his website, but in his LensWork interview, he said he shot everyting with a Pentax 6x7 and scanned the negatives and did his post processing in photoshop. His prints are from the Epson 2200. |

I love his stuff and he has certainly served as an inspiration to me. One day I'll eventually get to Africa and hope the images I take can come even slightly close to the magic he creates. |

THAT was the BIGGEST elephant I have ever seen - he walks right through clouds, for cryin out loud! Awesome photos! Truly inferiority-complex-inducing! :) |
