You know me - it's Sunday night and I'm ready!!!

WOO HOO. I entered the "Dead End." Really like my entry. I should NOT have entered transparency or busy - both were kind of last minute shots and I'm suffering the consequences!

GOOD LUCK ALL.

This question...who's up for the rollover...seems to be the trend lately. So, I have to say, that it reminds me of a song...not a particularly lady-like song, either.

Who will join me in a chorus of:
Roll me over, in the clover...
(kpriest, I just know you know this one! Has your wife given up the server code yet?)

Um... no, I didn't know the song, but I do now. Thank you for expanding my repertoire of drinking songs. :)

And I'll be around, but working. My firewall won't kick me off until 1am Pacific time. Rollover is 9pm here. No Dead End entry though. Seems like all my ideas were a dead end. ;-)

I hear ya! LOL My last (current) 3 entries were last minute. The pumpkin one was last second - I mean as soon as I hit submit, the "Wait" screen came up. I kick myself everytime I cut it so close.

I'm up for it as usual. I was afraid this week was going to go without an entry as the weather has been muck. But I got a dead end off yesterday and am pretty happy about it. I think I'm gonna get skunked for garbage and landscape though...

I'm excited to see where transparency falls. There were a lot of good entries and I'd like to see the notes on a few.

Thank you for finding that link! I had no idea there were so many verses!
I was going to say, "I have no entry either," but phrases in the rollover thread have (suddenly) taken on new meaning. Like when DrA says, "I'm up for it as usual," and "I'm excited..."
(Sorry, it's later on the East Coast than on the West.)

I'm in Dead End, but I don't have many hopes of pulling out anything special. Photographers are so diverse in opinions of photos, that with a high number of entries, it is more of a miracle or even happenstance that one ends up in the top ten, IMO.

To me, and I know I am very new here, there are wayyyyy to many entries per contest. I understand that others are as zealous as I to enter, as well should be, but it is SO hard to find time to vote on over 200 entries (in some cases), nevermind leave comment. Earlier today I saw 115 entries for Dead End. By the evening it was 145. I would suspect probably another 40 or so before "dead"line's end. LOL? It's a bit overwhelming.

So, although I am excited, I am not going to be running to my computer in the morning. (I will be walking to it though...)...LOL.

Don't get overwhelmed Rose. One step at a time. Shoot for a 5.5 with some nice comments. When you can achieve that, then shoot for Top 50. Then maybe a 6.0. Winning a ribbon is a bit of a crapshoot so it's not really something you should attach to success. I'm sure we'll see you up there sometime.

When I got in the top 20, I was jumping through a hoop!!!

Rose - don't get overwhelmed. I think that's why they give you a week to vote on all.

I have 2 favorites on my shutter speed entry, and yet my score is only at 4.4.

But I'm still very very happy with it...I don't really care if it places well. I just love making images that people get attached to and images that stir emotion within the viewers.

That's all that really matters.

Rose, don't get overwhelmed...just learn and have lots of fun..!! And don't take the comments to heart...and least the bad comments...everybody has an opinion...

Thank you for your replies. I hope I didn't offend anyone. I am sure that the photos that end up on top are very WELL taken shots. I don't mean to say that it was only by a miracle that they make it when hard work goes into shots. LOL....

I know it takes me a good 30 shots or more of one thing to get one I think is good enough to enter into contests. Sometimes I am lucky and get it within the first 5 shots, but it is neither here nor there.

I guess it would be a good thing to be in the top 40 at this point, or even keep a 5.5 in the shots taken. For my first few tries here, I really just entered to see how it goes. Only one am I actually happy to have entered (Dead End), but we shall see how it goes.

Thanks for your comments though. I really don't mind if others don't comment on my photo entries though. I am quite sure that it is hard to comment on all.

Thanks again!
Rose

Yes, I thought that title was familiar, but I am absolutely positive that is not the version we sang on the school bus. And no, I don't remember those school bus words. It was a very long time ago (sigh) ...

How great is the internet that you can find that song and link it to us so we can start celebrating the rollover? AAAAAh - life is good.

I'm all checked in and ready to go! I'm definitely ready to move on past Transparency and into this week's challenges... Look out, cuz Carter's got some strong entries coming up! ;-)

(Now watch me go down in flames for opening my big mouth! LOL)

I'm with you guys. No entry here! I've just been overworked and didn't have the chance to shoot. I'm just glad that the transparency challenge is over so I can post outtakes and get the pulse of everyone. My score just peeked at a 5.030 and now it's down to a 4.95 again. Dare I ask for a 5 to close out his challenge?
