Imagine my surprise when I started gaming on my friend's TI-83 calculator during a physics lecture and realized the game I was playing (fall down) had been programmed by Nick Monu. Ivy League scholar, future National Geographic photographer, calculator programmer... If this is the same Nick Monu as nico_blue, props to you. I am quite impressed.

Can he fly? Can he turn into a chicken? I think not...

Not sure about the latter though...

Calculator assembly programming was a hobby of mine in high school, i just havent had time for it ever since. I did not originally program fall down but modified it to run for two players amongst a few other things.

But yeah, thats me :-)

Some people collect stamps, you know. I'll bet you wind up developing a cure for influenza, then nab a blue ribbon for a picture of it in Macro XIV. ;-)

That's the kind of question they keep asking about ME, Nico. I'm so delighted to slip into the background and let you field it for a change :-)

I thought "teeth" was officially "teeff" when used in this context :)

yeah.. yeah...

i once programmed a commodore amiga 'hockey simulator', was pretty proud of it too. you could program in teams, assign skill levels in 3 different categories, ect ect and even save game stats. it was a month-long piece of code that was ruined when i accidentally wrote a blank file over top of it. didn't think to make backups in those days.

mind you, that piece of my brain that can program computers has pretty much turned to mush now...

saintaugust - That's happened to anyone who has coded anything. I had about 25 programs that I had coded in TI-Basic for my chemistry and calculus classes last year. One day, my calculator ran out of battery during a calculus test. I asked my teacher for batteries, and when I turned it back on, I got a happy little message that said "All RAM has been cleared." I started shrieking very loudly, and threw my calculator on the floor in disgust.

But yeah, I've never done assembly on my TI. Programming is fun though; I'm captain of my school's programming team. We go to conmpetitions and stuff. It's pretty much the cool thing to do. I'm more into computational programming than application/business/game type stuff though.

Am I the only one who sees the irony here ?
