don't you ever let your woody go to bed?
you have a gift..and it is scary...
10/13/2005 07:13:12 AM · #27
Oh no, I must be a bigot. I hate all woodies!
10/13/2005 08:05:29 AM · #28
I will admit it I hate the woodies too. LOL I can't believe I said it but I did.

Great edits BTW!!!

These are wonderful. I commented on some of the photos as well.

I think Woody has a mind of his own and can teleport into any photograph. Ken really has nothing to do with it. :~p

Ken, you are the master! You need to make a "how to" tutorial on woody insertion.

Edit: Wait, let me rephrase... aw hell, you know what I mean. :-)

Don't know you really but just find you priceless Ken! Really nice and funny too.

Can't we all just get along? Some of those are so well done you could show them in a gallery. Angelwood is pure genius. More demented mad scientist genius than Einstein genius, but genius nonetheless.

I have a solution for the Woody problem:

Flamethrower.......

OK, this "sort of" acts as a temporary filler for us DPC Enquirer Junkies.

It's people like you that make a digital image not acceptable in a court of law.

OMG, Ken's on a rampage!

Great work, Ken, thanks for the laughs!

You got that right - or you would surely have been convicted of that San Diego Bank Robbery back in 2000!

;-P

Oh my God!! Those woody pix are the funniest thing I've seen in a while!! Awesome!! And the editing is so well done, too...

Great job, Ken!

No way that could have been me - my ego wouldn't fit in that little head.

Thanks for all the great comments! This really started on a half serious note (that's about as serious as I can get). I thought my Coffee Shop Entry should have placed better (doesn't everyone think that about their own entries?) and it seemed like it may have been getting penalized for having the Woody, even though it wasn't the main subject.

I could be wrong, but I had seen comments over the past year that revealed some harsh animosity toward poor, innocent Woody. Anyway - I was really just having fun, but was really curious to hear if people thought these shots would have won a ribbon as I depicted them (aside from the obvious DQ issues). I was just going to do a couple, but it got addicting and I ended up doing 12 in 3 hours or so.

In regards to doing a tutorial or such, I would be happy to do that, but my workflow and process is pretty chaotic and inconsistent - I liken it to those artists who flail around in buckets of paint and create incredible masterpieces. How can you teach that? (how do ya like my self-aggrandizement?) But I will come up with something.

Thanks again. Now I have about half a day's work to make up...

-Ken

ps: no sympathy comments for the Coffee Shop entry please. I am a firm believer that the system here works and it got what it deserved and I received several excellent insights.

OMG I just saw this, this is hilarious - thanks, I think I just ruined my keyboard. Poor woody, so overworked and underappreciated. My sister-in-law will be happy to know she's been replaced by a woody, then maybe she can get some rest!

The Skiprow, Unbound Woodie is sweet!

I've always wanted to ask what is the deal with woodies, as I had never seen them before joining this site. So, what's the deal?

Woodies are a race of super-intelligent extra-terrestrials. ...or they are a very primative race of wood-like creatures that we evolved from. I can't remember which one it is. ;-)

Photographs are a medium that usually do not invoke much laughter from me, but these sure did. Great work.

Chalk me up as another who'd like to see a tutorial.

Thanks joynim - usually when I wake up in the morning--- oh wait, I see what you mean - ;-P

Any art supply store should have them - sometimes a framing shop. I've got a collection - some from //www.dickblick.com (don't blame me for the URL).

I saw one at an art store yesterday that was like 3feet tall! I thought to myself, "Man, I wish I had a 3' woody!" :)
