I need for someone to convince me to switch from PBase to some other image hosting service. I know SmugMug is becoming popular but it's a good bit more expensive than PBase and I really find their user/browsing interface to be much more uncomfortable than PBase... anyone have any suggestions on a better service? Can anyone convince me to go to Smugmug?

What criteria are important to you? Sales? Comments? Customizable look?

I would like it to be just like pbase but more reliable :)

I can't convince you because I have no personal experience with smugmug's pro setup but I can give you a coupon to save $5 if you do decide to go with them. ;) Clickity click

You could setup a JAlbum just like pbase on your own server. I pay $77 a year for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT of hosting and JAlbum your galleries.

If you find their interface unfriendly, then I guess it's difficult to convince you to go the smugmug route as it's a very personal thing.

They have recently changed their interface and it takes a bit of getting used to. Today I was searching for a good while to find how to shift things around but when I found it it was clear that it should have been obvious to me to look where it was . I just didn't so I'm not sure if that's my problem or theirs.

I like their unlimited space, the fact that you have many options for how to display your galleries and the fact that you can add text very easily if you wish. I also find their display the most elegant of the lot but that's just personal preference. Re cost, I can't compare to others but it seems to me very good value for what you are getting.

I was unsure whether to go with smugmug but once I took the plungs, I find it marvellously easy to use.

Hope this helps.

PS - I don;t work for smugmug!
