I notice only 18 entrants in Celebration so far.
Having a tough time coming up with ideas? I am!

My kid was in the hospital this week so I haven't had much time to think about it, but still have no good ideas. Maybe later today, after work slows down I can give it proper thought.

I suppose your kid's homecoming would make a nice celebration? Hope that happens soon.

Thanks, RGO, she came home last night and we did celebrate! But I don't think ice cream on the sofa would make a very good pic! hehee

Having same dilemma - no ideas that are possible to shoot and no time to go looking!
Oh well keep thinking!
Hope your child is better soon

I am also having a tough time with celebration. Unfortunately my good ideas usually only come about 6 hours before the deadline, we'll see what my small brain comes up with (if anything) this weekend.

Sorry to hear about your child, hope it isn't anything serious. I am actually one of the 18 that submitted. It was actually an idea that hit me in the middle of the night. Couldn't wait until it was day time to set up the shot.....Man, this stuff is addicting!

Hey it's Friday here...don't need a better reason to celebrate than that!

Hey Cindi, I say dress up the dog again, only this time with an orange background. :-) Glad to hear your daughter's home again. Ice cream on the couch sounds perfectly good to me (says a father of two).

Thanks for your kind words guys, she is doing much better and will be good as new in a few more days.

I do have a crazy, time-consuming, messy and difficult shot idea, but it requires alcohol consumption. Oh the things we do for art! ;)

It just so happens that Sunday is Canadian Thanksgiving. I wonder if there's an interesting shot in it for me when we gather for dinner at my in-laws' house. Maybe I can grab the turkey, stick it on my mother-in-laws head, and see what happens?

I just got back from the fishing at the beach and was really surprised at how few entries there were as well. Although, I'm having a tough time coming up with a good one for Celebration too (of course that hasn't seem to stop me from entering lately...). ;-)

Celebration is so broad, yet so personal. Hmmm... I'm sure I'll come up with something completely inappropriate and universally rejected, so I'll be entering as usual. lol

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'd be executing it poorly (but I guess that was a given too). ;-)

My in-laws are coming for a visit this weekend, can I get a picture of me when they are leaving? That's certainly cause for celebration!!!

I have a totaly ribbon worthy idea, BUT I need to buy myself a new lens to execute it, and some props to get the right mood.
I'll buy the lens tomorow and shoot it on sunday, just look at the frontpage of DPC the week after that

What about a special stuffing spoof?

The description isn't OF a celebration, but:

"Devote your photographic energies to making us feel good about ourselves and our lives"

I think people are limiting their subject to a party, bar mitzvah, anniversary, whereas it should be an image that is cause for joy in our lives? Woah - I'm getting way to deep and philosophical. I better go have another mug of coffee!!

I have entered mine and just looking at it makes me feel all warm and cozy (ok, now don't throw up everybody). And it's NOT even a baby or duckling. ha ha ha ha

oh well, my interpretation might not be the best one, but I did the best I could. That's enough for me :)
