IMO, anyone that enters is a winner regardless of score. The ribbons are to be coveted however, the voters choice!

Yes I agree with that totally and have just received a comment from one user we all respect "graphicfunk", highly praising my photo ! That's all I need, it doesn't matter where you finish ;-)

[blush on]holy smokes! i was wondering how i got so many portfolio views in one afternoon. thanks![/blush off]

on one hand, i doubt if i ever ribbon. i just suck at picking the right image.

on the other hand, i am packing now to fly out to san diego to hopefully meet the master himself and to learn the mysteries of ribboning without having to learn to speak icelandic ;-)

I'd like a ribbon.

My brother Jacko has received his fair share of ribbons, but he has come close on numerous occasions as well. Just look at all those 4th's and 5th's.

Slippy doesn't live in San Diego! ;-)

Alrighty then, we'll just go ahead and cross you off the list. Word of advice... if Mistah P's going to be driving you around, you might want to bring a helmet and ask him to stay off the sidewalks. ;-P

Here's my shortlist of soon-to-be ribbon winners:

NightShy - despite her Color Portrait entry, I think she's ramping up the curve very fast.

skiprow - he's taken awesome shots ever since I joined DPC, his challenge will happen soon.

kpriest - He knows the DPC formula & enters super-high quality shots. He's due.

mesmeraj - She's hellaciously creative, but scorns the DPC formula. Though she could get a ribbon soon, she may not just to spite me.

rikki11 - he's got some really cool shots in his portfolio. Rikki is my sleeper bet for a Cinderella-story ribbon. Remember, when he ribbons, you heard it from me first!

WOW! What a great way to wake up in the morning! Making Slippy's list :) I am thrilled and honored by my inclusion in this list :) There are so many people that are ribbon bound, it's only a matter of time. I used your chart and calculations and it says that I will be able to ribbon by April 2006 :)

Now if I can only break that darn 4+ rut I'm currently stuck in the ROT challenge :)

Now don't go making me look bad, you have one month, no pressure! ;-)

Thanks Slippy! I've been on many lists in my life, but none as prestigious as your short list. In fact most of the lists I've been on were, well I can't say, but you get the idea. :)

Now, knowing the DPC formula and being able to execute it are 2 different things. Of course, everyone knows the first ingredient is the same as the rule for real estate, location, location, location!

...and a free tip for all those who haven't already figured it out: Woody pics, though highly entertaining, don't win ribbons! :(

Really?

Yeah, but did you take a look at the date? Dec 30, 2002. Would hardly hit 6 these days and be on the third or fourth page of results.

I think FETOR deserves one. Hes got some really inventive shots in his portfolio, only a matter of time methinks!

i'm hoping to fit something like this into a challenge

or this

or this

geez, this guy's a monster. i want to see what he'll do with one of my lens...

Cheers slippy ;)
I will continue to scorn, purely to spite you :p Unless you start with the smack talk again ;)

I'll second slippys list (other than myself). NightShy is climbing fast, rikki is constanstly ripped off, kpriest deserves *something* after puting the angry villager to rest, and skip is just... good haha.
mandyturn is also flying up the learning curve faster than a jackrabbit - shes in for some high scoring portraits
ublique is also privy to the DPc formula, i wager theres a ribbon in his future.
jmoore has a great emotive style that with a little work will be ribboning in the near future also

Slippy could probably ribbon if he spent less time dipping his head in chocolate also :p

Glad Skip's off the list now. I'm reviving the list to add pawdrix because, well, because I make dreams come true!

:)
