I mean come on guys....thank goodness President George W. Bush launched his war for oil...I mean, otherwise we'd be spending $5.50 a gallon.
: P
And you know, and let's not forget how Bush let Hitler come to power and slaughter millions of Jews.
Or how Bush caused hurricane Katrina...
And how every american death in the past decade is due to GWB's presidency.
Serious though..it gets almost comical reading all the cry outs of how it's all Bush's fault. If there is anyone to blame...it's the person who's back pocket is holding your wallet.
Let's take a little responsibility for our own actions people...Bush did not use all the electricity, he doesn't drive all the miles, nor consume all the oil... WE DO!!!!

It's about time gas prices went up sky high. I'm glad. Think about it, it's either now companies bust their ass making more effecient cars, or later when the earth is polluted beyond control.

amazing how many people gripe, moan and groan about all Bush has done wrong but still love and take full advantage of the freedoms he has continued to give us.
You don't like the way our government handles apparently every situation then why not leave for another country where your freedoms are so much better...oh wait, everyone there bit***, moans and groans about us and our terrible goverment...that is until they need our help.

Our freedoms are given us under the Constitution and President Bush has vowed to uphold the Constitution. Our freedoms are not his to give or withhold, but to rather to protect.
Edited for my stupid grammar.

I think sabphoto was talking about freedoms of a different sort than those granted by the constitution, like the freedom to wear what you want, to eat meat whenever, to fart if you feel like it, to talk during a movie, to drive where you want to, to read a book from back to front, etc.

Don't shoot me but why do people think we Americans pay less to the (0il company's) then other country's? Did anyone look up how much the price of gas is a tax their government's impose on a equivalent gallon. I read that most of Europe has a tax of 2/3's the price. That rounds out that if you are paying about $8.00 a gallon you are paying the same as I paid today under my tax burden, which is not much of the price. It all goes to the oil company's here, not to the government in the form of a tax.

You don't think those companies would absorb the costs associated with plundering and pillaging themselves do you?

Our wrong turn was when we decided to live so spread out. You realize if we all lived in this gigantic complex all together with business's close by or right within walking distance, like maybe a mile or so, we wouldn't need cars or gas. It would be great with hundreds of thousands of people living in giant buildings. We could have public transportation that could cope with us then. As it is now we are spread out so far apart we need the car, we need to get to work. My Dad when I was young had to drive 24 miles to work every day. He had 5 kids to feed. It was in Maine and there was no public transportation. The closest store was 15 miles away.
I think there are to many people that live to far from their work. We will have to make cheap alternative non gas cars for the majority of US citizens that can not afford to pay for the new technology. Then again why not build these super buildings and move most of us into them. We don't have to see a sunset, we'll get used to government green walls all around us. At least we won't be using that horrible stuff called gas. |
