Yes, there are some beautiful shots here, but I think that not enough credit is given to one of our other young people here... I think that elsapo perhaps has the best work with macros and pretty little insects on our site. Just a shameless plug for someone I don't know, but appreciate their talent...

There are some really nice flutterbies here - autumncat were all here to learn - Ive got a very long way to go yet.
Yours have great colours on.
Well done to all |
benhur - thank you. I'm my own worst critic. I do think a macro lens might have caught my butterfly a bit more sharp.
Yes, there are some wonderful creatures and captures in this thread.

mystical princess: I found that if I set up right next to flowers where these beautiful creatures are flitting about and wait just a bit (usually not more than a couple of minutes), they become accustomed to your presence and you can get pretty close to them (moving slowly) and just click away!
I didn't think my little camera would be able to do them justice, but I've been pleased with a few of the shots so far. Oh yeah, another way (for moths) is to leave the outside light on overnight and then go out first thing in the morning and they are everywhere (and let you get VERY close).
Just a couple of suggestions - cuz I love shooting these little guys! I'd love to hear if anyone else has some secrets too...
