Well, today I found:

a double-headed melon baller
two texta(felt) pens
nail clippers
hairbands
1 (yes just 1) earring
Assorted coins
Chocolate and snack wrappers
Pages from magazines

A settee is a sofa.

yep! If you have a sit-ter, something has to be sat-on, hence the set-tee...:-P

So long as there isn't an ex anything in mine, the world will be OK. ;)

I have three sons so I am terrified to think what might be down in there...I will just stay away and avoid the issue for now. LOL

Come on people be brave!
Years ago I found a dead bird that my dog decided to bury under the cushions. Not pleasant!

I bought a couch at a yard sale and it had three remotes buried in it. My daughter moved into an apartment that had a dead ferret under the couch.

When I bought it I cleaned it out and found a petrified mouse and the usual crumbs and such. Most recently I found the TV remote, but I was looking for a rented movie -- apparently my kids have decided to keep it. :(

I am just chiming in to say I don't like the word "settee" :(

Since I'm here though, I notice NO photos of loose change, pet hair, lint, gum, etc. Sup wit dat?

I once claimed on the insurance for a lost wallet, guess where I found it 2 years later? LOL.

I often find my remote, for the TV and for the PS2, my dogs, a blanket.
Did I mention my dogs? They're always there

Now that my kids are getting older I don't find as much gross stuff in the couch. In the couch in the my livingroom I only find the remote which my husband keeps stuffing there. On occasion I find cat toys, but usually nothing else, except my sunglasses once! In my kids livingroom, I usually find where they hide books instead of having to go upstairs to put them away or socks or other pieces of laundry as my laundry is never all folded or put away and often resides on their sofa. Fortunately, I never find anything gross anymore since they're all banned from eating in the livingroom.

If I found a dead mouse or ferret I'd need to be revived. (I have mouse phobia, lol, not to mention I'm not fond of finding dead stuff)

No way am I looking in my couch! The last time I did, I found, along with a long missing Spiderman action figure, a small black hole. The entire world, not to mention my living room, was in imminent danger of getting sucked into the vortex and destroyed. It was only through some quick thinking, a bit of luck and some anti-matter I had left over from an earlier experiment that I was able to avoid causing the end of the world. It's just not worth it.

A raisin, a G.I. Joe backpack and some birdseed were my latest treasures.

Incidently, my grandmother calls a couch/sofa a *davenport*...not sure on the origin of this, but I always thought it sounded a bit like it's own island...

Almost once a month I have to turn over the couch in my daughters tv room and empty it out, everything goes right through it to sit in the backing. Usually the tv and stereo remotes, pens, cars from various kids that come over, food and once my missing screwdriver. Not a fun place to hunt in.

i used to raid the sofa when i didnt have enough bus money.
We had one of those ones with a blackhole torn in the lining, sometimes youd find unopened chocolate bars and all sorts of great things.

Just loose change, some crumbs and a few matchbox cars... but while we were cleaning the carpets the other night we found a dead lizard along with about a dozen little toys and such underneath one.

My cat likes to bring them in (lizards that is, not toys) and chase them around the house. It's a pretty funny sight watching me chase the cat chasing the lizard, I'll tell ya. I guess I missed that one...poor little guy. He must have just scared himself to death. :-(
