I've been mucking around with a photoshop action called "antique" and found that I really like it. I'm one of the weirdos that like grain and noise, though, so it's not for everyone I'm sure. These are both of my middle son, who has learned to ride a 2-wheeler this week and is really growing up fast...he starts 1st grade tomorrow! Anyway, comments and critiques are appreciated. :)

I guess I really AM the only weird one that likes the effect.

i LOVE the second one! that effect is really nice, and it makes me want to try it out. the first image looked pixelated on my screen, but the second one ROCKS! nice work! i'd love to see a closer crop on the second image.

I too love the look of antiqueing and sepia, as well as monochromatic where one color is most of the composition. I liked the second one also.

I like this effect. Thanks for pointing it out. The coloration is pretty cool (I totally dig on that sort of muted out tonage).

The look of determination on his face in the first one is priceless!

I love the first one, his expression looks like Billy Bob Thornton in sling blade and the kid that was in too all at the same time. I love the old grainy look.
