The chicken didn't cross the road...you passed out when you made that 180 on the black ice of the mirage in the middle of the road and "came to" just in time to notice the chicken a second time.

My grandma would say that back in her day, she didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told her that the chicken had crossed the road, and that was good enough for her.
