So, I went to Boston (Raynham, MA actually) this week on business and I decided not to take my camera. That's the last time I'm going to do that!

Tuesday night we drove to Newport, RI and had dinner at Christie's, right on the harbor (talk about beautiful). Then we drove around and looked at all the mansions, and then took a cruise down Oceanview. Oceanview would have been a lot nicer if it wasn't dark, but I could tell there were a lot of great photo ops there.

Wednesday we were on Cape Cod all day for a meeting at The Dan'l Webster Inn, but never had a chance to get out and see the rest of the Cape. What I did see was beautiful. Maybe I drove by Bear's house and didn't even know it.

Talk about a lot of missed photo opportunities. Next time I go out I'm going to make sure to pack my camera and find a local New England DPCer to hook up with, so I can see the sites.

Just posted to remind everyone, never leave your camera behind, because you will always regret it.

If you have photos from the areas I visited, feel free to post them to document the trip for me, since I was a dumba$$.

Chris,

If and when the budget allows get a small quality "pocket sized" point and shoot and bring it places with you. My Pentax 550 lives in my brief case and can easily be slipped in my pocket. Its got a 5x zoom and 5 megapixels. Im sure there are similar current models available.

80% of good photography is being there with a camera.

Cranberry bogs on the Cape are pretty.

:-( Bummer. Isn't it funny how many photo opps you see when you don't have the camera...but then when you go out to shoot they just 'aren't there' (yea right).

I went to Cape Cod last October. Here's a few so you'll know what you missed. ;-)

Thanks everyone. Way to rub it in Jen. ;-)

Good idea Mike, I'll have to look into that since I'll probably be traveling more now.

Chris,

If you drove up rte 28 on the way to Dan'l Webster Inn, or down in on the way back, you could have seen a glimpse of my house, yup. I can stand on a chair on my deck and see a peek of 28. Hmmph. You shoulda' told me you were coming...

I was going to, but I knew this trip was going to be full of meetings and running around, so I figure I'll hit you up the next time I head out there. I should be going to Raynham a couple times a year from now on.

I gotta spare room and run a decent kitchen...
