i found myself a truly fine and intelligent person to talk this whole photography-thing over..inside out ..upside down
i can recommend this approaach
so we decided this is not fit for the beauty challenge
its too much about nostalgia and i think its missing something anyway
but as an outtake it should be acceptable
add

I like it but I think you made the right choice not to enter it for the beauty challenge...here is my outtake :)

My entry is tanking big time (4.9 and dropping), which I don't quite understand. Here is the outtake which I pulled out an hour before the deadline
any thoughts? Would it score better? worse? |

What can I say. I'm a card-carrying member of Geeks Quotient (GQ). I'm tempted to say a very young Grateful Dead, but I think that wouldn't do. |

Would have gotten a 5 from me, largely due to static composition and total lack of context, a weak combination. On the plus side, nicely lit and a lovely geode.

The Vermeer painting is the easy one.
Wild guess as to the band - as there are four of them: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young?

I think this would be cool if you cut a slice from the back side and back-light through the geode. But, then again, my beauty entry is cliche and may end up a bottom 10 finish!! hahahahaa
Oh well, I'd like it anyway...

ok the panter has been mentioned but no1 seems to know the band....

I was contemplating entering this:
But I dont think it really fitted the challenge, more tranquil than beautiful. Gotta learn not to enter stuff just to have something to update! |

Thought about entering this, but wasn't sure if it met the challenge closely enough for the voters here, so I didn't enter anything. Now that I see so many child submissions I kinda wish I would've entered it.

Missed the start date by a couple days, but one of my favorites from vacation. The one I entered will bomb, but I am ok with that too.

I didn't submit anything for the Beauty challenge, but I should have cropped and edited this one. I did submit this earlier looking for editing suggestions and ended up with a JetGull going down in flames. How would this original have done?
