There is a photo contest for a Cinco de mayo festival that I went to in St. Paul. I took tons of shots at the festival, not knowing the contest topics, and now I'm kind of hoping to submit ($200 prize, woo!) but I'm not sure I can really jam any of my photos into the two topics. The topics are:
- Cross Cultural Connections (focus on people) – This is the meeting and
interacting between the many cultures represented at the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.
- Lugar de Celebración (focus on place) – Captures the scenery and atmosphere of the West Side, in addition to the many events that are taking place throughout the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.
My gallery of photos is here. Do you any of them strike you as fulfilling either category (I can enter one in each) or should I just skip it?

Well, I'm not the best at picking stuff out but here are some of my suggestions. These are all for the People category. Since most of your shots were people focused I coulnd't really choose one for the other category.
These are in order of how I like them and how I think they'd fit the catagory best. Looks like it was alot of fun and you got some good stuff. :-)

This fits the cross cultural description very well and I like the stop action of the movement in it as well.

The first one - definitely! It captures emotion on both of your primary subjects and is absolutely terrific! It's cross-culturally appealing, has wonderful depth & clarity, and is generally a "feel good" kinda shot.
