Do you score challenges while viewing on an LCD (laptop/flat-panel) or a CRT (big ol' cathode-ray-tube) monitor???
Just wondering what the majority of folks here use, as I do my photo-post-op on my laptop to get them just the way I like, but sometimes become physically ill when looking at that photo later on any CRT monitors. |

i only have an lcd, so thats what i use. I try to take into account variations in color tones and stuff like that when voting.

I use my LCD here at work for all my editing and voting.
I often check and make sure it's calibrated as close as can be also. |

Had a 15" LCD. Put it on my wife's computer. So I no longer use it. Now a 21" CRT.

A CRT until the DVI to DVI adapter comes in so I can hook my 20" ACD to the computer.

LCD/laptop, probably why most of my comments received state that my pictures are too dark!

Unless I'm on the road (which is pretty often) I always vote from home, on my CRT. When forced to, I vote from my laptop. I have the laptop set up as well as software-based calibration allows, but there's still the issue of shifting gamma with changing viewing angle, which settings don't affect. This laptop is much betteer than my previous one, however.

| I only use LCD now, I have the 23" apple HD and a 19" Sony LCD and sometimes I use my 12" powerbook, I only see CRT screens when I go to school, old 17" Dell CRT´s uncalibrated and just bad screens, I used to have the 21" Sony E500 CRT, excellent screen, but I like the 23" Apple HD better every day :) |

| I use 2 screens all the time LCD and CRT ... Just to make sure I try to get the best look for both screen types ... |

| It was a laptop LCD for me, but I recently got a new CRT and I'm planning on voting using that from now on. Or as much as possible, at least. |

both because the ones on the laptop look like crap most of the time..the photos have wavy lines sometimes

I have a Nokia 21" CRT and a Mitsubishi 18"LCD and use only the CRT - which is hardware calibrated every 14 days - for viewing and voting. There is a difference (even though the LCD is also hardware calibrated) and it does concern me when submitting. I know I'm seeing calibrated images, but as for others...???

CRT if at all possible. I don't think I'll ever go LCD for design work.

The screen is flat, not convex, but there's still a big tube behind it. |

Um yes, Not a Flat Panel, Flat Screen, just like my Sony Vega Flat Screen TV (CRT).. |

| On my LCD monitor usually. Sometimes on my laptop LCD. I know that the monitor isn't calibrated quite correctly... noticed things when i came home to a CRT my dad has. |
