Hey Daniel, you were the one who introduced me to dpchallenge. Thanks a bunch. A case of the student teaching the teacher. Hope to run into you sometime, maybe at the meeting. |

This is just sad... there are more active DPC members in Wyoming than Connecticut. :-( |

But they're all related to Sonifo.

It's allllllllmost spring, despite the snow. We should start planning a late April meetup. I was thinking April 23rd - but are any SP's open at that time? Once summer hits, it's too hard for some of us to make gtg's, so April ...

I'm in centrally isolated Ithaca. Triangulate away! We're within 3-4 hours away from most of the rest of NY (except Long Island and the Plattsburg area) which would make for a good long day trip for those coming here or me going somewhere else.
Anyone up for an impromptu get together sooner than spring? While many of the parks here are closed, you can still hike some of the trails. I know that you can at least walk the Taughannock Falls gorge trail when the weather's not bad. The forecast looks ok for this weekend.
I grew up in the Kingston/Woodstock area. Overlook Mountain makes for a nice hike with good views of the Hudson Valley and Ashokan Reservoir as the reward. |

Ithaca's not bad for a start, BUT not this weekend for me as I'm in DC at the moment.
I lived in Saugerties (Hudson Valley) for 6 years and can vouch for the wonderful places there. Any campers here? Maybe we could do a North/South Lake camping trip with sides to nearby Hunter Mountain.... |

I used to hang out around Hunter/Elka Park/Tannersville/New Paltz when I was younger at various friends Summer homes(leetching as always).
Love it up there. Looking to buy a house or property up that way when I get another few bucks in the bank. The mountains rule. |

Upstate NY (Rochester Area). Depending on timing I'd be game for an outing in this side of the state. Ithaca area as posted earlier could be fun... Lots to shoot there.

When you see the statue...you know you are entering the art capital of the world....hope you enjoy your stay visitors....just be prepared to enter a police state. Guards are everywhere and questions will be asked by police or security whenever you shoot late at night here in NYC. I get harrassed constantly. |

Bump.
So, it looks like we have a decent sized group willing to shoot in Ithaca. Is that correct? I would be happy to set up a poll with some dates so we can vote and pick a weekend. How's that sound to everyone?

Jen,
Yes! Let's have a poll. I think there's enough interest in Ithaca and it would be (for many of us) not too difficult to get there.
How far away am I
1 hour's drive.
When can I/can't I meet up?
Weekends are best. Not mid-April from 4/12 to 4/23.
Where should we go?
I've been to Ithaca many times and posted some suggestions earlier in this thread. I'm entirely open to whatever everyone else would like to do.

Ithaca is fine - about an hour from us.
Mostly weekends and/or wednesdays. :) Anytime before mid-May. After that, wedding season is too much.
