Yea. My photo "Soft Radiance" won second place at Betterphoto.com. First time I've actually won anything other than a photo of the day!
It is still my favorite shot of this series, but only got 63 percentile in the Breaking New Ground Challenge
Here on DPC:
On Betterphoto:
Soft Radiance
I don't submit to the Betterphoto contests often--I think that was my second time in two or so years when I first found the site. So I don't really know how hard it is to win. I was surprised that there are something like 10 second place winners per category! Hmmm, did anyone not win? ;)
But I'll still take the recognition!

My congrats, also. Neil, you only have to wonder when you are one of 1,000's "finalists", as I was told I was the one time I entered there!!! Plese remember - this is DPC and a very limited view. I can imagine how much you would "wow" a larger, more diverse audience with your work.

They seem to get about 10,000 entries per month, so yes, lots of people don't win :)

Hey Neil: cool. we all benefit by this. It is like raising awareness for an old technique that is often dismissed in this site.

That's great, Neil. Maybe I need to send my slef-portrait there? Nah... They wouldn't even KNOW it was supposed to be a self-portrait LOL. Seriously, congrats.

Congrats on the recognition Neil. If you cut off your ear, claim poverty and insanity, you can probably make a Gogh at earning an income with these shots. ;-)

Thanks for pointing that out Rob--I haven't really had time to look through the other winners over there! But I should have recognized these by glance.
Congrat's Jon, David, and Ursula! All beautiful shots.
