I searched but didn't find it mentioned.
It seems that the virtual photographer filter set does the kind of adjustments that are considered legal in Basic Editing. Or am I wrong about that? Has there been any discussion of it? (I couldn't find it) |

Hi! Yes, there's been lots of threads and many submissions using it. I just searched under "virtualphotographer" as one word and got a few. Try that.

We got a definitive answer a while back that VP is fine for advanced editing but not for basic. :o)

edit: Here is the thread which states that it's OK for advanced, not for basic.

And how would that be different then what you could do legally in PS?

Can I use this in PSP8 or is it a program all by itself? |

It's a small stand alone program...that simulates Hoya/Cokin/Kodak filters. |

Opanda Photo Filter is just a color manipulation tool, shouldn't be anything illegal about it. It applies an adjustable amount of hue shift evenly across the entire image.

It works as a plug-in in PS (might be stand-alone as well). It's free.
Basically, it can add grain--lets you pick film speed--convert to b&w and simulate color filters in front of your lens, can soften using gaussian blur. I don't think it works on a selection, and as far as I know, it preserves the integrity of the image as much as using the same features individually in PS. I can do most of the same things with curves etc. and they're legal, but it's one heck of a lot easier and quicker to do it in VP. |

| You can use it as a plugin for psp8. Just drop it into your plugin folder and then you can use the plugin menu to access it. If you download any of the sets, you will have to tell psp8 that they are in your folder. |

I brought the question up again before the SC on this thread.
