You don't mention what image editing software or computer operating system (Mac vs. Windows) you are using, but a quick and dirty way to find this out is to go to Windows Explorer and check the file size.

Most image editing software programs will tell you the file size if you view the image "properties."

well I have photoshop 7 and it says "convert to profile". I know nothing about elements really but there would be a way I'm sure. You need someone to come in here that has elements to help you out

I just entered my first challenge(bridgesII) and was having real problems resizing my image in photoshop. I ended up guessing and came out with a file size of 52kb and an image that lost alot of sharpness compared to the RAW original. People have commented on this, and I appreciate the help. I only just found in the forum people talking about the dp challenge tutorial //www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php?TUTORIAL_ID=26
All I can say is that it was a great help to me, and I wish I had of found out about it before I submitted my photo to the challenge, I resized the original photo again with my newfound skills and came out with a 150kb file size as per rules, and the differences between the images is substantial. Now that I know how to properly prepare an image for a challenge, I might score higher
