It's here again, the one challenge I am certain I can find a model for.

This time around, we are asked to find our best side and submit it. I don't have any ideas as yet, but I was wondering something. Do you think with this being the 3rd run of this topic that representative interpretations will be better received. By this I mean, I photograph that captures the essence of who I feel am, but that my body (face) may not even be in (or only marginally).

Not submitting to challenges in a while I have noticed (or imagined perhaps) a slight change in the site's atmosphere over the past couple of months. It seems, at least to me, that shots that make the viewer think are most desired, at least in the forums -- but I am wondering if there was a general feel the voting audience has matured enough to possibly accept a portrait that is not 'classic portraiture'?

What do you think?

Sounds to me like you are thinking more like my idea for a challenge topic, Self Portrait sans Self. I would look up the thread, but I worked 12 hours today and don't have the energy...

I seem to have been doing quite a few self-portraits recently, some more 'obvious' than others

Guess I'm going to have to reshoot this one. I expect it would do quite well. :) hahaha, yeah right...

As long as you compose it, set it up in every way, someone else can push the button "legally"...

Would depend on what you've been hiding all this time :)

Give it a shot!! That's the only way you'll find out!! There are very few male nudes in the site anyway.

Can't happen...unless we're allowed to take a photo of someone else for "self-portrait"....Hmmmm....

Now if I can just find someone more attractive than me to play my double--shouldn't be too hard. ;->

Legal is a subjective term.

For this challenge I take it we are suppose to take a photo of one self
I hope people vote on the actual image and not the face as for myself being quite an ordinary looking person and no doubt there are some georgous looking people on this site it will be hard to vote on also some people know already what a person looks like
Also this is a portrait and not a casual image is that correct?

Yep, I'm hoping people vote on the quality rather than the beauty, as well. Of course, either way I am not in luck :)

just one question a self portrait can be the whole body? Or does it have to be just the face?

I think it can be either, but should include the face.
