In my town there is a gallery on the square and they are having an open calling for new artist to display/sell works at their gallery. I would like to solicit the community's help to pick 10 - 15 of my best items that would a) represent my best work, and b) be good items for sale.

You can go into my portfolioto see my items I have on DPC, or my PBASEsite for most everything else.

If you wouldn't mind, this would be a great help, because I've seem them all 100s of times and have grown numb to them.

Thanks,
-danny

Downtown McKinney, TX. Do you live in McKinney? How, do you recognize a couple of the people in my family section?

Thanks for going through my collection. You've probably picked a lot of the same ones I will.

Of course, I have a bit of an oddball sense of taste, but these are my faves from what you have posted here. I'll go through PBASE later and see what else I can come up with. :o)

How many do you think you'll be showing? If you will be looking for clients as well as selling prints, then I would also recommend showing some of your wedding and portrait work. I think you have some excellent ones to show. Here are some of my favorites from DPC:

Thanks. At this point, I think it's just to try and sell prints. It's not really set up, at this time, to just show works for services. Although, if my card is available, then they can always go see what I can offer for them!

Sorry for the shameless bump, but I will be getting my shots printed this week, I have a good idea what is well liked, perhaps just a few more from the daytime/work week crowd.

Thanks,

I think that the most important thing in picking some shots is to have a unified look to them.
Pick one or two of your best ones and then try to find others that somehow go together with them. Perhaps the misty morning and the kids silhouettes and then finding others with a similar look and feel.

People are usually drawn to artists that have "a look" to their work IMO

Same goes with how you choose to frame them...the same frames or similar ties it all together giving a more professional look.

I feel the same way... now the biggest thing is deciding what 'type' of photographer I want to be known as. I really don't have one particular style, so this is making it difficult. I like a lot of my people shots, but am trying to figure out what will work best for me and might be saleable. What to do, what to do.

a lot of your photographs seem to lean towards nature...landscapes, animals, plants, even people...hope that helps LOL
