Thanks for the tip!
I had my wife check at work and we got seats in the companies private suite for the Dec 10th concert in Dallas at the American Airlines Center!

If you haven't heard their Christmas trilogy (3 separate CDs), you need to check it out.
Each album in the trilogy tells the tale of an angel who is sent down to Earth on Christmas Eve... you can read the stories that are behind the music here:
Christmas Eve & Other Stories
The Christmas Attic
The Lost Christmas Eve
Awesome stuff. By far my favorite CDs this time of the year. And although it says "Orchestra" in their name, these guys jam with electric violins, electric guitars, etc. too...
And if you have an opportunity to see them in concert this holiday season, do it! It is an amazing sensory experience... |

You're welcome! I don't think you or your wife will be disappointed; I saw them last year and was blown away, and am so looking forward to their show this year! Lucky for you it is only 9 days away (I've got to wait 16!)... and it sounds like you'll have some pretty sweet seats. |

Well, my favorite christmas album is Bing Crosby's White Christmas, but there's a very special song I'd like to share with you all. It first was heard on the Mystery Science Theater 3000 Episode "Sana Claus Conquers the Martians" and has since been uttered in dischord at bars across the country. The makeshift Group "Joel and the Robots" have blessed us with the hit:
Patrick Swayze Christmas
Open up your heart and let the Patrick Swayze Christmas in
We'll gather at the roadhouse with our next of kin
And santa can be our regular saturday night thing
We'll decorate our bar stool and gather round and sing
Oh, let's have a patrick swayze christmas this year
Or we'll tear your throat out and kick you in the ear
It's my way or the highway this christmas at my bar
I'll have to smash your kneecaps if you bastards touch my car
I got the word that santa has been stealing from the till
I think that that right jolly old elf better make out his will
Oh, let's have a patrick swayze christmas one and all
And this can be the haziest..
This can be the laziest...
This can be the swayzest christmas of them all! |

Bing Crosby and David Bowie did a version of "the little drummer boy" as a duet that I think is amazing.

Bob & Doug McKenzie's Twelve Days of Christmas.
(On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: a beer!)
Seymour Swine & the Squealer's Blue Christmas.
(Sung by a stuttering Porky Pig with a cackling drunk in the background)
Just a couple of Classics!

Just keep that John Lennon tune away from me...and I'm not a huge fan of the 'drummer boy' song.
I like "Oh Holy Night' as long as it sounds ancient and un-country and un-adult contemporary... |
