As some of you may recall a few months back I launched my project to raise funds for wildlife conservation by selling 37 prints of photographs taken on a recent trip to Kenya. All images with DSWF in the title are part of this project.

On that trip to Kenya I met David Shepherd, the founder of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. His emotive accounts of the problems faced and his passion about being part of the solution made me keen to find ways in which I could support the work of the foundation.

Back in September I thought I'd reached $224 ($299 including Drew and Langdon's donation of their share of the profits). Unfortunately I noticed this week that I had made a mistake in the spreadsheet I have been using to keep track of the project earnings and had included figures from a couple of prints that are not within this project. However, since that time I've made a couple more small sales and...

The total now stands at $675. (I'll keep updating this)

THANK YOU not only to those who have bought a print but also to those who have taken the time to forward the information and link (//kavey.dpcprints.com) to friends and colleagues who might be interested. In particular, thanks to those generous DPCers who have purchased prints already (Manic, Gordon, PaulMdx, Sonifo, Lenkphotos, BrownT, Jbsmithana, Laurielblack, Bod) and to Drew and Langdon for their continued generosity and support.

As sales have slowed right down I'm asking once again for support from fellow DPCers in the run up to Christmas. Perhaps you know of some animal lovers in your family or social group who might appreciate one of these prints for their home or office wall? Perhaps you would like one yourself and could include it on your letter to Santa (otherwise known as your family)?

If you can spare the change to buy even one small print, you'll be contributing to a very worthwhile cause. If you can pass the link on to 10 people you'll also be supporting this project.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and to consider whether you can help.

Happy 2005!
Kavita (Kavey)

Kavey, I had a look at your photos. Considering the cause and considering the fantastic images, I'll definitely be making a purchase. (I'm at work right now, but will be making my selection sometime tonight.)

WOW...! What an experience it must have been to be in Kenya!!

Thank you SO much! I appreciate it and thank you very sincerely.

Your money will be going in full to a really good cause. Please don't hesitate to give me a shout if you'd like to learn more about the work being done by this charity or perhaps pay a visit to their website: www.davidshepherd.org

Kenya was wonderful. It was a pretty short trip and I went with my dad rather than my usual travel partner (husband) - we were only there for 4 nights - and I spent some of the time with my (film) camera on game drives with other guests and some of it sitting and painting (badly) with the art safari tutor - a very relaxing way of experiencing the Masaai Mara.

This is a great idea, Kavey.

I have a print in mind that I would like to order. Might be another week or so before ordering it though.

He is a little cutie!

Those are AWESOME photos! If I had the money I'd order one (or two). Very nice work and I'm sure you'll raise a lot of money as they are extremely beautiful.

There's another order for you :-)

Will hopefully go through, might moan about the address of the credit card... Got it sent to my girlfriends house, but my card isn't registered to that address.

If it doesn't go through, I'll redo it to my own address.

Wanted to mention how great the two prints I ordered looked. Great stuff. Pride of place on the wall.

Thanks Gordon!

Am checking in from Buenos Aires - we had a night here on our way home from Ushuaia following the Antarctic trip - the heat is too oppressive for me though it seems like a great city. Am in the hotel lobby waiting for the transfer to the airport and taking advantage of free internet access!

No sales of the charity prints since I went away but perhaps there will be one or two in the run up to Christmas. Am hopìng so. Took some new business cards I had made up for my dpcprints (using Tomboy image) with me and gave a few out so who knows?

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Any chance of a pic of what they look like framed and on the wall?

The two new prints have arrived, and are just as kickass as the previous ones - two Christmas presents I don't need to hunt for now! I can't recommend these safari photos enough...

Thanks Manic!

A few weeks ago I sent an email to all the friends who normally buy me something for Xmas and asked them to consider buying one of my charity prints instead. They would get to keep the print for themselves (or give it to someone else as a Christmas present) and the gift to me would be their support for a project that is really important to me.

Several have responded positively, two have already put their orders in and others have pledged to do so shortly.

I'm thrilled.

Manic remains my best customer having very generously bought 3 of the charity prints altogether. I think that's wonderful and just want to single him out for an extra-big thank you here in the forums.

THANK YOU!

Total (see first post) now JUST under $500.
Anyone feeling generous enough to nudge it over?
THANKS AGAIN to all those generous souls who have bought one or more print and also to ALL of you for putting up with this thread!
Thanks most of all to Drew and Langdon and to DPC for supporting this project so generously.

Laurie, you are indeed a star and have put the total up above the $500 mark. What goal should we strive for next?

THANKS AGAIN everyone, the holiday season spirit is really getting this moving again!

Thanks to those of you who bought a print over the Xmas period the total is now almost $600!!!

That's a great figure to have achieved in the space of only a few months and I'm very grateful to all of you.

Whilst I'll continue to refer to this project in my signature and, perhaps, even mention it in my posts, you'll be pleased to know that I am not intending to use this thread any further, other to THANK all the generous people here on DPC one last time.

Many thanks for all the support
Kavey
