Isopropyl Infernoby orussellComment: Love the blue tone in this shot. I'm not sure the shot is truly in focus, but it doesn't seem to matter too much. Can't wait to see how this was done! The only thing I don't like is the blue part of the border. It is too bright and wants to pull my eye away from the shot. A darker blue (or simple black by itself) may have been better. How many glasses did you break doing this?

Before Flashlightsby spydrComment: I'm begining to believe there was some kind of conspiracy here. My favorite two shots of this challenge are the last two I voted on. This shot is awesome! Love the simple color scheme and your use of the shallower DOF. You also made good use of a secondary light source (but IMHO it's just a touch too highlited on the right) to help bring out the textures and lighten up the shot. Your crop is dead on (would love to see the out of camera shot to compare)!
Kudos

Burning the Midnight Oilby drydocComment: Wow, almost the last shot of the challenge for me to vote on and I have my favorite for the theme! Love the tonality, the uncluttered yet full composition and the simplicity of the single light source. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is the light itself is a bit overexposed and causes some flare.

A Drop of Fireby soupComment: Nice shot. Never cared for these though. Can't get over the smell...

modern day fireby leafComment: IMHO for a shot like this to work, you need to have a clean stove top. The rust and grease take away from the overall impact of the shot.

PS: Nice originality for the theme! |

fire waterby Ecce_SignumComment: This doesn't look quite right to me. The edges of the flames are too abrupt. It also looks almost like the bottle and flame were cut out and pasted. What are the artifacts in the lower right corner? Overall, it looks like there has been too much processing...

Burner Artby carlacrypticComment: IMHO this has gone beyond the boundaries of photographic integrity. I do not and probably never will appreciate these shots. Going within the guidelines of the rules, I can not give you a very high score.
